Why can't i trust IE Defender ?

I was browsing porn on the internet (I'm only human !)

Apparently, my computer has been hijacked by something called "Trojan". IE Defender constantly tells me (with popups) they can remove this virus from my computer.

But i keep hearing IE Defender aren't trustworthy. Is this true ? Who can i trust to remove this virus 'cos i'm getting desperate !

Can the Yahoo ! community recommend an anti-spyware software with whom i can trust (with my c/card details, etc).

IE Defender? I thought it was Windows Defender?

Anyway, the message that you have been hijacked by somethng called "Trojan" is not enough information for a more specific response.

I suggest downloading AdAware then doing an online system scan at one of the many free places that do such a thing for you. Google: "online virus scan"

EDIT:

some online scanner links:

Norton anti Virus is very good but expensive- i got it wen i bought my laptop

try and find someone with a serial number for it

or get it from staples or somewhere cheap like that
download for free SpyBot Search and Destroy.

update it and then run it. this will cure you of any nasty porn-like diseases you may have infected your pc with !!!
The IE Defender infection is a Browser Helper Object installed in your Internet Explorer browser that hijacks searches you input into the Google and Yahoo search engines. These hijacked searches will state that you are infected and that you need to install the IE Defender rogue anti-spyware program. You will also receive popups that state you are infected when browsing the web. The reality is that all of these messages and alerts are fake and should be ignored.

How to remove IE Defender (Removal Instructions)

silly rabbit, didn't anyone tell you porn sites are hot bed for viruses. a lot of the sites are russian and they load spyware and pop ups to frighten people to buy so called softwae. get a copy of spybot search and destroy 1.5 (google it) set it up on your computer, make sure you have it download the latest files, they are up to 110,000 files that they check. run the utility, remove the spyware it comes up with, if one will not remove, you may have to restart the computer and let spybot try before windows is loaded. if you still get the pop ups, get the file smitfraud.exe (google it) and run it. that should take care of you. if not come back to bulliten board to see what else can be done. if you are not actively using virus and spyware then you deserve what you get.
You can try this free %26amp; easy removal process. I would not recommend to purchase anything unless you can't remove it manually.

IEDefender is an extremely dangerous rogue software created by programmers from Russia. It may be installed manually (from www.iedefender.com) or using security holes. Once the IEDefender is installed, it will start showing fake security messages that your system is in danger and will trick you into buying its full version. IEDefender may steal your secret information (passwords, credit card numbers, PayPal accounts). IEDefenders work may damage Windows registry and cause system slowdowns and crashes. It may be difficult to remove IEDefender manually because it loads on every Windows startup and has an ability to renew itself if you try to remove it.
